2022 December Update

It has been an incredible and very busy year for Build The Future, and we wanted to take a moment to thank you and share some of our highlights from the past year. We could not have achieved all that we have without your help, and we are truly thankful for your continued support.

Ekusizakaleni Preschool, or as we call it, Preschool 3

The Ekusizakaleni Preschool - Preschool 3 - in KwaZulu-Natal has been making great strides this year thanks to the help of Build The Future. Throughout the year, multiple teams have been hard at work constructing a kitchen, pouring concrete footers for the 2nd classroom container and more. By Thanksgiving, the kitchen was completed, and in January 2023, the 2nd classroom container will arrive. Deli, who runs Preschool 3, is incredibly grateful for the assistance she has received from Build The Future this year and is very encouraged by all the progress made.

Crayons!! (yes, crayons)

This generous donation of wax crayons will enable us to provide all our preschools in KwaZulu-Natal and Johannesburg with the necessary materials to help the children express their creativity and develop their skills. The crayons will be used to create beautiful artworks and help the children learn about colours and shapes. We are so grateful for the support and generosity of those who have donated to our cause. It is wonderful to see how people are willing to help us in our mission to provide quality education to the children of South Africa.

Cincinnati

Cincinnati is one of our favourite places, and we were blessed to visit in October. The highlight was an “Evening with Phillip and Clive” event. It was an amazing experience to be surrounded by people who have been on trips with us. And to talk about our year’s accomplishments and plans for the future. Everyone was so supportive and encouraging, and it was a genuinely uplifting experience. We feel so loved and celebrated whenever we visit Cincinnati and look forward to returning.

Kya Sand Hothouse

The hothouse completed by teams this year in Kya Sand has been a game-changer, and it’s made a huge difference in producing fresh vegetables really fast. “From the garden to the table” keeps our kids healthy and helps us stick to the vision of feeding our kids healthy food all year round.

Rise Against Hunger meals

The Rise Against Hunger meals have been an enormous blessing to the Motsoledi feeding program in Soweto. Mavis and Alice have been tireless in their efforts to ensure that the children receive a nutritious meal each day. This has positively impacted the children’s academic performance, as they can concentrate better and learn more effectively. The meals have been a source of great encouragement to the children and the community as a whole.

This Christmas, you can give joy to the children in our communities,
bringing hope, encouragement and lasting change to their lives.

Feed a Child for a Year for $25 a Month

You can’t learn when you are hungry. And keeping kids fed and educated is our primary focus at our preschool projects. Your donation of $25 a month gives a child three meals a day, providing the nutrition they need to grow and thrive so they can learn and develop in a safe, nurturing environment.

Choose to give monthly and feed a child for a whole year. Or donate any amount monthly or as a one-time gift. This holiday season, join us and make a lasting impact on a child’s life.

Give joy in your own family. When you give, you will receive an e-greeting or print-at-home card. Add a personal message to make your gift even more meaningful.

We look forward to continuing our work in the coming year. Thank you for being part of the Build The Future family!

Please stay safe, and keep in touch,
Phillip & Clive
